Thom brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience in high growth companies and was most recently CTO for SmashFly. As CEO, Thom will drive execution of SmashFly’s product vision to support aggressive growth and drive innovation in the recruitment marketing marketspace. Thom’s mix of both technical and business experience will help SmashFly bring advanced personalization, intelligence and targeting capabilities unlike anything else seen in the marketplace today. His experience in building transformative teams has resulted in significant market success most recently at LogMeIn and Applause.
Mike has been an industry innovator in recruiting technology for the past 15 years. In the late ‘90s, he conceived, designed and built the first web-based talent management system at HireSystems/BrassRing, now part of IBM Kenexa ─ still used today by scores of Fortune 500 companies. Mike founded SmashFly in 2007 to pioneer a new category of HR technology focused on managing candidate leads before they apply. He’s an expert in the recruitment marketing space and helps organizations leverage best-practice strategies and technologies to build out successful recruiting marketing programs and processes.
Prior to BrassRing, Mike was co-founder and CEO of Millennium Productions, an Internet ISP based in Cambridge, Mass., where he led the technology, sales and client services groups.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than 20 years of experience managing operations for high-growth technology companies and international consultancies, Marisa is responsible for leading SmashFly’s finance, human resource and administrative functions. Before joining SmashFly, Marisa was Chief Financial Officer at Basho Technologies, where she was instrumental in the company’s worldwide growth and obtaining several rounds of financing. Prior to Basho, Marisa held financial management positions at Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), TIAX and Arthur D. Little.
Chief Customer Officer
Ted Ruscitti joined SmashFly in early 2014 to develop and lead SmashFly’s world-class Customer Success organization, which includes all of SmashFly’s technology services and customer support functions. Ted has been supporting enterprise customers in their implementation of SaaS-based software solutions for more than 20 years, with leadership roles at several successful technology companies, including BrassRing and Oracle. Ted also serves SmashFly’s internal customers as the official conduit between SmashFly’s leadership team and all of the “Flyers” who make up our team. In this capacity, Ted puts his experience and passion around building outstanding, customer-focused teams to use in driving SmashFly’s overall culture and ensuring its people are successful in achieving SmashFly’s mission.
Chief Revenue Officer
Russ Mikowski is an accomplished software executive who has driven revenue growth from both $15MM to $45MM and ~$50MM to well over $100MM. Prior to SmashFly, Russ was the head of sales for both The Ladders and iCIMS, helping both build, lead, and optimize large sales organizations across multiple office locations. His significant product, technology, and marketing background allows for natural cross-departmental partnership, and his experience includes remote site management, implementation of change management initiatives, and RIF execution. Along with his role at SmashFly, Russ serves on the advisory board for a number of startups in the HR and TA technology industry.
Chief of Staff
As Chief of Staff, Matt works across the organization to clearly define, align with, and execute SmashFly’s strategic goals and objectives. He acts as an advisor to the CEO, is responsible for growing the SmashFly Project Management Office, and provides key operational support throughout the organization. Matt brings nearly 20 years of experience as a software program management leader to the team and has a proven track record of driving mission-critical programs and projects to successful completion. Prior to SmashFly, Matt worked in both small startups and large established companies, including MathWorks, where he built a team of Program Managers to support the company’s flagship enterprise product; and BrassRing (now IBM Kenexa), where he established a PMO and program management function.
VP of Engineering
As SmashFly’s VP of Engineering, Gareth oversees global technology and product operations for the business, and he’s dedicated to delivering and managing our award-winning recruitment platform. Gareth leads a team of experts in engineering, operations, and security, who work diligently to bring innovative solutions to our customers. A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, Gareth is also directly responsible for scaling SmashFly's European technology operations and building out the company's footprint in EMEA. Prior to SmashFly, Gareth served as the Managing Director at two technology companies in the sales and field-based CRM space.
VP of Marketing
Josh leads SmashFly’s marketing team, working directly with a team of creative and operational pros who manage all aspects of SmashFly’s brand, thought leadership, demand generation, sales enablement, and product marketing. Josh previously served in sales enablement and product marketing roles with SmashFly, and he’s passionate about helping companies better communicate their story — who they are, what they believe, and how they help a particular market solve real, meaningful challenges. Prior to SmashFly, Josh ran his own business, worked with a Boston-based venture capital firm that defined thought leadership in its space, and worked in an operational role at a marketing technology startup.
