Founder and CEO
Mike has been an industry innovator in recruiting technology for the past 15 years. In the late ‘90s, he conceived, designed and built the first web-based talent management system at HireSystems/BrassRing, now part of IBM Kenexa ─ still used today by scores of Fortune 500 companies. Mike founded SmashFly in 2007 to pioneer a new category of HR technology focused on managing candidate leads before they apply. He’s an expert in the recruitment marketing space and helps organizations leverage best-practice strategies and technologies to build out successful recruiting marketing programs and processes.
Prior to BrassRing, Mike was co-founder and CEO of Millennium Productions, an Internet ISP based in Cambridge, Mass., where he led the technology, sales and client services groups.
Chief Sales Officer
Scott leads SmashFly’s global sales efforts toward high growth, interacts with clients to understand their needs, and helps them revolutionize their outdated recruitment strategies and processes. He has more than 25 years of sales experience in technology, software and business services, and specializes in the sales of enterprise SaaS software. Before joining SmashFly, Scott held sales leadership positions with a variety of then-emergent HR solution providers that have helped shape the industry, including HireVue, SuccessFactors, Taleo and CareerBuilder. A dedicated sales professional, Scott is committed to working strategically with organizations to help them attract, hire, develop and retain the best people.
Chief Product Officer
Mary Grace is responsible for overseeing SmashFly’s product management team, and brings more than 15 years of leadership and experience in HR technology. Before joining SmashFly, Mary Grace was senior director of product management with Taleo. During her nine-year tenure, she managed the product management team, overseeing the launch and management of many of the company’s most successful products. She has helped many large organizations vet and optimize their recruiting strategies through better use of technology. Before Taleo, Mary Grace worked at BrassRing and was the founding product manager for its SaaS ATS solution.
Vice President of Engineering
Tim brings 25 years of technology innovation experience to SmashFly, where he is responsible for driving product development and scaling SmashFly’s platform infrastructure. Prior to SmashFly, Tim was Vice President of Engineering & Product Development at RedMetal, where he developed product strategies across a portfolio of businesses and built great teams by hiring people who collaborate and innovate in a fast-paced startup environment. Before that, Tim served in various senior engineering roles, including 12 years as an architect with Microsoft. He brings a strong focus on execution excellence and ensuring on-time delivery of products using modern, agile engineering in concert with Lean Startup business methodologies.
Chief Financial Officer
With more than 20 years of experience managing operations for high-growth technology companies and international consultancies, Marisa is responsible for leading SmashFly’s finance, human resource and administrative functions. Before joining SmashFly, Marisa was Chief Financial Officer at Basho Technologies, where she was instrumental in the company’s worldwide growth and obtaining several rounds of financing. Prior to Basho, Marisa held financial management positions at Monitor Group (now Monitor Deloitte), TIAX and Arthur D. Little.
Chief Technology Officer
Filipp oversees development and production operations for SmashFly’s entire technology stack, and brings more than 10 years of experience building, implementing and managing SaaS business enterprise solutions. Before joining SmashFly, Filipp held principal development roles at BrassRing and Investment Technology Group.
Chief Customer Officer
Ted Ruscitti leads SmashFly’s customer success organization across education and training, technical services, account management and implementation. He’s been supporting enterprise customers in their implementation of SaaS-based software solutions for more than 15 years. After assembling and leading BrassRing’s original implementation team, Ted went on to scale his global organization to include all customer-facing, product-focused functions including training, technical consulting and BrassRing’s world-class support operation. Ted was BrassRing’s Vice President of Technical Services through the time it was acquired by Kenexa in 2006. Ted most recently served as Senior Director at Oracle over a global services practice for more than 3 years.
Chief Marketing Officer
Lori is responsible for leading SmashFly’s global marketing and bringing best-practice marketing principles to the recruiting process. With 20 years in high-tech marketing, communications and strategy, she brings deep experience in creating demand for new product categories and growing startups into category leaders. Previously, Lori was Red Bend Software’s EVP of Marketing where she helped grow the company into the leader in mobile software management. Prior to Red Bend, which was acquired by Harman International, Lori ran marketing for General Dynamics’ $3 billion IT services division and served in various senior marketing roles at venture-backed startups including ByteLight, which was acquired by Acuity, and Indus River Networks, which was acquired by Enterasys Networks.
Vice President, Operations
Alex assists SmashFly with the development and implementation of strategies and business practices to drive high growth to its business. With over 10 years of high-tech startups, and over 20 years aligning operational and strategic changes with technology changes, Alex has deep experience driving company growth. Prior to SmashFly, Alex was the Chief Information Officer at Imprivata. Alex also held Chief Information Officer / Technology executive roles at Symbotic, Endeca, and Eaton Vance Management.
